Wow! That was fast! I drove around the block today, finished up a few last
minute items and drove to the local Lotus club meeting. During the unofficial
tech inspection, a couple of assembly errors were found including a rather
dangerous omission. Seems I forgot to put the jam nuts on the steering knuckles.
I made a note to drive home slowly.
So far these are the things that need attention:
- Speedo doesn’t work. When I assembled the transmission the speedo gear
didn’t quite mesh with the transmission gear. I guess I’ll have to find a
slightly larger gear. - Carb is WAY out of adjustment
Unfortunately these will have to wait until the end of the month as I’m off
for a 3 week business trip.
