Am I done?

Well in the last month or so I’ve put several hundred miles on the car. I can
tell now since I got the speedometer working. The gear Caterham sent didn’t
quite mesh with the gear in the transmission. I called around to the various
dealers and found a gear that was slightly larger with the same number of teeth.
I wasn’t sure it would work, but for $12.00 it was worth it. A couple of days
later and I had the new gear installed and it worked. I still need to go to a
speedo shop and see how far out of calibration it is but at last I can tell I’ve
been somewhere!

The latest problem is the heatshield around the alternator. The bracket
holding it on has broken and the shield has wedged itself in the header. I’m
going to try to find a better heat shield.

I guess the build is over. Sometimes it is hard to tell with a Seven. I’ll consider everything else an upgrade.
