Track Day – 983 Miles

June 28, 1998

Track day yesterday:
Car ran well. Still has stumble when secondary open. Not
too bad.

Brake peddle low. Need to work on.

Car under steers slightly. Not too bad.

Tires leave a lot to be desired. Must upgrade.

Driving needs to be improved. Too many times I'd dump
the clutch on downshift without first matching revs. Much
excitement ensued!!

Post track day check:

  • Oil OK. No unusual color or odor.
  • Exhaust gasket OK.
  • Rear brake adjustment. Left: 7 flats. Right: forgot!
  • Water OK.
  • No visible leaks on engine or transmission.
  • Differential has oil drip. Not sure if this is new.
  • Brake fluid OK.
  • Front left wheel/hub "wiggle". Need to check
    bearings etc. (Done).
