Track day and disaster

The Lotus Club Track day held at Portland International
Raceway started as a very good day.  With the new
engine and suspension setup, the car (and me) where flying
around the track.  On the last morning session, the
car started to spew water from the radiator
overflow.  I spoke with several of the local experts
and Jay Ivey (the engine builder).  The consensus was
I needed a higher pressure radiator cap.  During the
noon session, I ran over to a local parts store and bought
a 18 pound cap.

In the afternoon session I changed to the advanced
class.  Towards the end of the first 20 minute
session,  the car suddenly lost power.  After
bringing the car into the pits and pulling the plugs, it
was obvious that I had burnt the number 4 piston.
Rats.
