Beautiful drive down the coast. Stopped to play in the tide pools near Hecata Head. Jim, trying to get the perfect angle to photograph the bridge, got surprised by a wave and ended up wading. Nadya found starfish, sea urchins, snails, mussels and an unknown rock creature.

Bandon: Stop for the cheese, stay for the fudge.
Nadya remembered in the nick of time that Bandon is famous for its cheese, so we provisioned at the Bandon Cheese factory and the CranBerry Sweets store (love the rocky road!) and had a picnic dinner in our room. What room? An oceanfront room in Brookings (Best Western Beachfront Inn).

Nadya played amateur geologist while Jim set up his camera for the perfect driftwood sunset picture. Unfortunately, the sky turned only a mild pink so his hopes were dashed.

Forgot to mention the educational aspect to the Oregon Aquarium tour: When Nadya was admiring a newt swimming, Jim informed her, “Yes, they swim just like Godzilla.” So all is well with Unibrain, as you can see.

Confidential to DRD in SD: Our informal camper count is at six. Perhaps Oregon would provide better hunting for you.
