Yesterday we had a beautiful drive through the redwoods. (Beautiful is probably redundant when discussing redwoods!). Beautiful drive down the coast. Stopped to play in the tide pools near Hecata Head. Jim, trying to get the perfect angle to photograph the bridge, got surprised by a wave and ended up wading. Left Portland at 10am. Rusty saw us off. Kato was hiding under the bed. As is the norm in Portland, it was raining. Headed for the Oregon Coast. Found the Aquarium and admired the jellyfish and otters. Checked into the Inn at Yaquina Bay, conveniently located across the street from the Rogue Brewery in South Beach. Sabbatical starts!

This week has been consumed by getting the Elan ready for some bodywork and last minute planning. I’ve found some good information on Death Valley and how to get to “The Racetrack” If you don’t know about “The Racetrack” in Death Valley stay tuned.
