Wiring Harness

I’ve been spending a lot of time figuring out the newwiring harness. The old harness is somangled and melted that it is not of much use. Of course better notes when I took it out would have helped. A big realization happened today while poking through the harness. The new andthe original harness are not like S1/S2 or the S3 wiring diagram contained in the service manual. The actual harness issome where in the middle! Most of the harness is like an S3 except for the headlamp and heater circuit! Chalk this all up to a lesson learned about taking good notes when doing the disassembly.Speaking of lessons learned, here is an article I wrote for the local Lotus Club(Club Lotus Northwest).
Good news on the body repair front. The estimate for body work came down enough and my tolerance for spending money went up enough that I’m having Horton restorations complete the bodywork! I’m off to Seattle tomorrow to finalize a few details. A friend who owns and auto repair business is going to let me use part of his shop to rebuild the Twin-Cam. He has a Lotus11, a couple of Cortinas and a Lotus Elite and is experienced in rebuilding Twin-Cams and is willing to spend time to teachme. This should be a wonderful learning experience.
