Complete new website design to make it easier to update the photo gallery. The machine work on the engine is proceeding and should be doneby the end of the month. The bores were worn enough that theyneeded to be bored to .060″ over. Conventional wisdom saysthis is “iffy” on a Twincam so I opted to have theblock sleeved and go with standard bores.Inspected and polished all the chrome bits. Most of it is goodenough. The few pieces that will need replated are the interiormirror stanton, boot latch, boot hinges and the heater intakegrill. This is a sample of the colors I was thinking about for my Elan.

Colors

From left to right we havePorsche Speed Yellow, Porsche Pastel Yellow, Ford Inspiration Yellow and Lotus Yellow. I had seen all of the colors, except the Lotus Yellow, on various cars. I went to the respective dealers, bought the touch up paint and made the test panel. The Lotus Yellow is from Christopher Neil and is as close to original as anyone has gotten, at least of the people I’ve spoken to. I carried this around for a week and narrowed it down to two colors. I took the small bottles of paint for those colors to my painter who matched the paint, ordered up a pint and made 1 foot test panels. I carried those around for another few days before deciding on ….. the Lotus Yellow. I should have a freshly painted body in three or four weeks! I’m rather excited.
