Engine Done

The engine assembly is done. The biggest delay was waiting for cam shims to be shipped from the parts supplier. It is too bad the local auto parts stores don’t carry Lotus Twincam cam shims. I also spent some time painting inside the wheel wells and the interior of the car.

Body Home and Paint

The body came home from the paintshop yesterday. The color is exactly what I wanted and makes the silver bumpers pop out. 2677I took several pieces of the chrome and putt hem on the body. While they are in good shape, the fresh paint makes the chrome look old. Looks like I’ll be visiting the chrome shop.   Many people have asked what the color code or mixing formula forthe paint is. More Engine Work

More engine work. The bottom end is together and I’ve put the head together long enough to measure for shims I need. I also found a gouge in several teeth on the crank sprocket and one of the cam sprockets. I obviously didn’t inspect them good enough when I took the engine apart. Body Inspection

I just got back from a trip to see the car all painted. The color in the pictures is a bit green because I forgot to set the color balance on the camera for florescent light. Oops.
