Casting Parts

Some of the plastics parts in the Elan are near impossible to findnew or used good condition. For a couple of these, I’m going totry and make my own parts usingAlumilite. My first projectis to make the escutcheon behind the interior door handle. Here are some pictures of the process.

Casting New Parts

Started the engine assembly last night. The bottom end is together,only taking a couple of hours. The top end and final assembly willneed to wait until next week since I’m going on vacation.I received a call from the painter. My body is ready! Next weekI’ll stop by and have a look seeOther progress: Fuel line installed, peddle assembly strippedpainted and reassembled.
