Engine In

Temporarily installed the header to check for clearance. Everything clears, so now I’ll send it off to be ceramic coated. Spent some time today mounting the engine and gearbox into the chassis.

A very important thing to remember is which side of the engine the spacers go. I had the mounts and spacers in a bag all nice and labeled. I took the bits out of the bag, yesterday, and set them on the bench. Today I had forgotten which bag they came from. Oops. After a bit of trial and error I figure out they go on the left side. Also needed to drill holes for the transmission cross member. I also made sure to repaint inside the holes to stop (slow?) any future rusting. Ran the fuel line.

On the TTR chassis, the underside of the top rail has been gusseted for added strength.

Unfortunately this blocks one of the holes the stock fuel line runs through. I carefully cut a flap in the added gusset to run the fuel line. I also enlarged the existing holes and added grommets in order to accommodate the Aeroquip -6 line.
