Interior – Part 1

Today was the day to start recovering the non-seating surface vinyl. Never having done fabric work, I called a seamstress friend, Jeannine. We started with the package shelf, peeling off the old vinyl and cutting new. After gluing down the new vinyl we noticed it showed every imperfection in the substrate. We decided to put that project on hold until I could get to the foam store (yes there is a foam store in Portland) and buy some thin foam.

Next on the list was the left hand door panel. After cutting and affixing the new piece of vinyl, guess what? All the imperfections showed through. At least we figured out how to cut and fit the vinyl.
