Corbridge and Aydon Castle

Arrived in Corbridge and had lunch at the black bull. Trying to figure out if we want to get to Aydon castle or the roman museum. Can’t decide if 4m is 4 miles or 4 minutes. I think miles, but what do I know. Found sign that said Aydon Castle 3. Walked a few blocks then found a sign that just said Aydon 1 1/2. We think this was all miles but in Britain...

Off to Newcastle and the British Museum

On board the 8:30 to Newcastle. We’re sitting facing backwards and I’m trying to convince myself it’s adventurous rather than nauseous. Jim says it’s like flying Southwest: 15 minutes for everyone to get seated in a free for all. The large black pack has gained 20 lbs. We’re blaming it on the t-shirts. 1124 1127 1133 1130 Walking through the British Museum I’m struck by the size of this place. The Egypt room alone, see pic, goes on seemingly forever. I never finish the tour but divert to Greece. I sometimes get a sad feeling in museums, just as I do in a zoo. Much of what is on display has been looted over the centuries and may be better served being put back. Maybe that is...
