Total for the day 9.5 miles. Along the walk it started to rain. No one even flinched and continued to walk. It is surprising how much our walking habits have changed in the 6 days. Of course some of us still don’t avoid the stinging nettles.
At the B&B and find out that Nadya’s wool socks smell like cat piss. In her defense she had to put on wet shoes today.
Again we find tea at the end of the day a delight.

Daily mileage estimates based on my pedometer
  • Tue 8.3 Corbridge to Wall including side trip
  • Wed 10.2 Hexam to Wall including side trip
  • Thur 14.3 Wall to Steel Rigg (Actually Saught Rigg farm, which only Jim walked. The rest of us got picked up a mile or so up the road a Steel Rigg.)
  • Fri 0.0 Off day
  • Sat 10.4 Steel Rigg to Gilsland
  • Sun 9.5 Gilsland to Brampton
  • Total 52.7 miles or 10.5 miles per day

An interesting side note, 10000 steps is about 5 miles so the trip took 105,400 steps.
