Nice walks today, more like what I expected the walk to be like, i.e. strolling through the countryside not scrambling up and down 300 meter muddy rocky crags. The weather even cooperated for the most part. The Inn is a great old house that was a rest home for soldiers during the Great War. It has turkeys, ducks, a very friendly cat and a goat. Also a bar which was a welcome touch. Jim, David and I had drinks while talking to the Innkeeper and hired man. The innkeeper had been in the Royal Navy during WWII and told about the time four British ships had snuck out from Manila in the dead of night since they were anxious to recover British POWs, but Allied (i.e. American) command thought they should stay to help secure Manila.
