A very pretty drive up 101 to Port Angeles, all except for the strange one lane pace car thingy that Washington dot decided to have. About 3 miles long and two lanes except for 100 feet where a tractor was parked.
Once at PA, Port Angeles for those not from the area, we hopped on the ferry and found a place to relax. Then we moved and moved again. Nadya didn’t like moving so she fell asleep while I continued to move about.
Landed in Victoria and it started to sprinkle and we had the top down. We made it to The Swan without getting really wet. Check-in and the room wasn’t ready so we dropped into the pub. I had a nut brown, which Nadya didn’t like. She went straight for the Sapphire Martini.
After awhile, the rest of the gang showed up for check-in. Rava said, “Hi” and Edis poked her head in the pub to let us know they arrived and would be right down. We waited. More waiting. “What could they be doing?” “They are parents. Probably judging us,” Nadya finally sent me to fetch.
Nadya here, picking up the story. Of course after I sent Jim off, R&D showed up and told me they’d been delayed by touring Edis’s room. She’d been upgraded and Rava kept insisting that I should go see the room right now! At this point I just wanted to get us all in the same place so I refused to move. We ordered drinks for the wolves but neither they nor Jim & Edis returned. With great trepidation we sent Rava off to retrieve them. All we needed was a swinging door to complete the romp. Because no sooner did they all tromp back than they decided that we should take the still missing drinks back to Edis’s room.
David and I shooed them back and stayed to fetch drinks. As we got on the elevator two very cool hip-hop young men got off the elevator, scanned David and said admiringly, “Yo, Papa!” Word.
P.S. It was a truly amazing room. An actual 3 level penthouse suite witha dining room, living room, sitting room, full kitchen, bedroom, another sitting area and a roof deck with 10 person hot tub.
How many shoes do you need to take on vacation?
