We saw Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow this weekend. The movie started out fun, with zeppelins, a spunky reporter and gigantic flying Mechanical Men. But when the Mechanical Men actually started shooting laser beams from their eyes, I knew this was a movie for me. When a scientist’s lab casually displayed a household elephant I started to wonder if the creators had been been reading my mind – or at least our web site.
Jim pointed out that the whole movie was a set up for the final punchline. I pointed out that a lot of people under 30 might not get the punchline. All in all a fun ride.
