As recommended on Elistalk in the thread Spent $120 and now I can ROCK! I swapped out the stock speakers for some upgraded units. All I can say is, “Wow!” The new speakers make the stereo usable at freeway speeds.

Alignment

In preparation for the Tri-Club trackday this weekend, I removed the front camber alignment shims. This maximizes the front camber on the car and, by all reports, helps with under steer. I’ll report back this weekend.

The change took about 20 minutes including time to find read the manual for the proper jacking points. The design of the Elise front suspension is such that the camber adjustment does not affect other alignment specs so this is an easy to undo to minimize tire wear around town.

Driving

I hadn’t driven the Seven to work in over 6 months and really hadn’t driven the Seven much at all since October.  I had forgotten about how open the car is and how responsive it is.  The Elise is responsive but nothing like the Seven.  The throttle, brakes and steering are even more direct.  When the Seven is gone I will miss it.
