Trackday

Last Friday was the second trackday for the Elise. This event was hosted by the local BMW club. The club put on a great event, staying on schedule so everyone got plenty of track time.

After the last trackday, I removed the front camber shims to help tune out the understeer. I don’t know if that was the trick, but the car felt much more stable today. So much time has passed since the last event, it could have been me just learning how the car works.

The last session of the day I took a friend who races a Lotus Mk 9 for a quick ride. His overall critique was good, with a couple of pointers about entry into turn one and the exit of turn 12. There was not enough time in the day to give the coaching a try. I’ll have something to work on at the next event.
