I thought about pulling the picture, because it’s just so sad, and I am such an idiot. I was backing up and misjudged a turn, and ran into the bumper of a VERY LARGE, VERY LONG, truck. That shouldn’t have been there, parked in a parking space, right in my way. Very inconsiderate – any other normal sized car parked there would have been safely out of my way. Unfortunately it’s bumper was at the same height as my fender, and the HLGSM lost.

So I will leave the picture, as my penance, and reminder to LOOK BEHIND ME. Maybe I’ll post a new one, when the Miata is all better.

It is unfortunate that the first post about the Miata is not a happy occasion. We have a big dent that needs to be fixed. Oops.

So who was that man? He was a photographer from the Oregonian taking pictures for an article in the Sunday paper.

A few weeks ago, Arun at Motocorsa called and asked if I wanted to be interviewed for the paper. I agreed and with a single hour with the reporter on one day, almost three hours with the photographer on another two days an article in the paper was born.

Way back when, I mentioned I drove the car that was on the cover of Car and Driver and said it would probably not happen again. This wasn’t a cover but it was my car (and me!)
