For Immediate Release: Unibrain Motorsports to Exit Formula 1

Portland, Oregon, USA.   Today, the Motorsports Division of the Unibrain Trust announced its plans to immediately exit Formula 1.  Unibrain had long been rumored to not start a team in 2010 or 2011, and the announcement to accelerate this came as a surprise to many.

“As a non-profit foundation, launching an F1 team seemed like a sure-fire way to not make money.  However, given the current economic climate, we feel we can improve our losses by investing in start-up alternative energy companies, as well as efforts to revitalize the US steel industry,”  said Nadya Boone, the former Future Team Principal.  ”This was a difficult decision to make, but we take our responsibility to our directors seriously.”

Jim Boone, the sacked Technical Director, said, “While I’m sorry we won’t have the opportunity to field a crap team, making this decision now will allow us to not race in more series this year, as well as in future years.  And I was really hoping to meet Danica Patrick.”

The Unibrain Motorsports division has a long history of providing funds to the auto industry, with few results to show for it.   The division now houses fewer cars than in past years. “I’m confident this is a temporary setback,” said Jim Boone.   “I see many opportunities for growth.”

Nadya Boone, chair of the Foundation’s board, explained, “We love Jim’s enthusiasm, but we do want to focus sharply on our other divisions as well, to ensure the Trust’s ability to fulfill its mission long-term.  I’d really like to add a footwear division.”
