Casting Parts

Some of the plastics parts in the Elan are near impossible to find new or used good condition. For a couple of these, I’m going to try and make my own parts using Alumilite. My first project is to make the escutcheon behind the interior door handle. Here are some pictures of the process.

Started the engine assembly last night. The bottom end is together, only taking a couple of hours. The top end and final assembly will need to wait until next week since I’m going on vacation.I received a call from the painter. My body is ready! Next week I’ll stop by and have a look see

Other progress: Fuel line installed, peddle assembly stripped painted and reassembled.
