Last Friday was the second trackday for the Elise. This event was hosted by the local BMW club. The club put on a great event, staying on schedule so everyone got plenty of track time. Warranty Repairs

It was bound to happen. One of the common problems with the Elise is with the liner on the touring softop. The glue that was used becomes unstuck after a few days or weeks in the hot sun. Speaker upgrade

As recommended on Elistalk in the thread Spent $120 and now I can ROCK! I swapped out the stock speakers for some upgraded units. All I can say is, “Wow!” The new speakers make the stereo usable at freeway speeds.

Alignment

In preparation for the Tri-Club trackday this weekend, I removed the front camber alignment shims. This maximizes the front camber on the car and, by all reports, helps with under steer. I’ll report back this weekend. The change took about 20 minutes including time to find read the manual for the proper jacking points. First Trackday

Today is the first trackday for the Elise. I’m going to run it with the stock tires, alignment settings and tire pressures to see how it performs. It is supposed to be rather hot today, around 90, so it might not be the best day but at least I’m not at work!
