The body came home from the paintshop yesterday. The color is exactly what I wanted and makes the silver bumpers pop out. 2677I took several pieces of the chrome and putt hem on the body. More Engine Work

More engine work. The bottom end is together and I’ve put the head together long enough to measure for shims I need. I also found a gouge in several teeth on the crank sprocket and one of the cam sprockets. I obviously didn’t inspect them good enough when I took the engine apart. Another hold for parts. I put together some photos of the left rear of the car through the various stages of the restoration....

I just got back from a trip to see the car all painted. The color in the pictures is a bit green because I forgot to set the color balance on the camera for florescent light. Oops.

Some of the plastics parts in the Elan are near impossible to findnew or used good condition. For a couple of these, I’m going totry and make my own parts usingAlumilite. Update

Just got the wiper motor and the door winder motors back from the re builder. The wiper motor had thrown solder from the rotor and was non-functional while the two window motors were filled with gunk and only need a good cleaning and new leads.
