Changed oil. Changed water – "oily feeling". Think it was goo left in block. Added fuel filter. Removed choke. Long drive today. Very enjoyable!!

Warmed for 1/2 hour. Removed choke from carb. Missing on #1. Removed plug and cleaned. Runs ok. Seems to be oil!! in water. Need to flush to be sure. Cleaned air filter.

Finally put on rear wheel arch welting. Alternator heat shield retaining bracket is broken. Need to find a better way to attach.

Well in the last month or so I’ve put several hundred miles on the car. I can tell now since I got the speedometer working. The gear Caterham sent didn’t quite mesh with the gear in the transmission. I called around to the various dealers and found a gear that was slightly larger with the same number of teeth. I wasn’t sure it would work, but for $12.00 it was worth it. A couple of days later and I had the new gear installed and it worked. I still need to go to a speedo shop and see how far out of calibration it...
