I’ve been spending a lot of time figuring out the newwiring harness. The old harness is somangled and melted that it is not of much use. Of course better notes when I took it out would have helped. Clutch Upgrade / Gauge Upgrade

With the Elan Restoration, I’ve really neglected this web page. I’ll get better at updating it and try to fill in some of the holes. Ordered a kit to upgrade from the cable actuated clutch to a hydraulically actuated clutch. It seems I go through a clutch cable every two years and I was a bit tired of swapping it out. Winter

The winter weather has slowed things down. Last October I was waiting for an estimate to finish the body work. The estimate was for 150 hours of labor. Ouch! Fiberglass complete

The major fiberglass work on the body is done, although the original estimate was way off. The damage to the left side doorwas more extensive than originally thought and the gel-coat was so severely cracked it made more sense to remove it.  The body has been moved to Phantom Restoration for paint preparation and eventual painting. Elan Update

It has been a few months since the last posting mainly due to the sabbatical. Progress since the last posting: Hung front and rear suspension The new bumpers and bonnet did not fit very well. I tookthe original bumpers to Randall who is going to repairthem. As for the bonnet, we are trying to get another thatwas made from the original Lotus molds.
