New member of the household

We have a new member of the house, Henry.

Henry was adopted from another family and we couldn’t change his name. Since all of the other cats have sidekick names we had to reverse engineer this one. After a bit of research we came up with Prince Henry of Wales

R.I.P. Perfect Tommy

Lamont loved to play fetch, chase the cat dancer, eat and sit in Nadya’s lap. He chewed on books and defended us from his mortal enemy: string in all its forms.

He loved Nadya best.

He was so beautiful that a friend tried to buy him from us outright. He was so elegant and well mannered that we called him Perfect Tommy.

Goodbye, sweet prince. We’ll miss you so very much.

Last week Nadya and I brought home a new kitten. His name is Alec Freeman and weighed an impressive 1lb 12 oz when we took him to the vet.

A very sad day

Kato died this afternoon. He developed a tumor under his tongue and was no longer able to eat. Nadya and I made the tough decision to put him to sleep.

We adopted Kato on July 4, 1989 about a month after we were married. Kato traveled with us through 3 states and 8 homes. He was afraid of mice, loved to sit in small boxes, saved us from the bath and inspected the shower. We will miss him.

Kitty Hospice

Kato has tumor in his tongue. All we can do now is try to make sure he keeps eating and keep him comfortable. This morning I gave him the last of the morphine. I called the vet to get more and the receptionist said that they’d have a refill for us in a few days. “Is there anyway I can get that before the weekend?” I said, suddenly panicking. “We’ll see if we can get it tomorrow,” she replied.I suddenly felt like Shirley MacLaine in Terms of Endearment yelling at the hospital staff, “My daughter is in pain, can’t you understand that!
