    • ]]>     QR codes are all the rage in Japan and are showing up in other parts of the world.  A QR code is like a hyperlink in the real world.  You could attach this to a physical object and then use a QR code reader (aka cellphone with a camera ) a link to a website such as this.  The code here is rather useless because it links back to here.  Why have a picture to link to yourself?  Because it’s cool!

    • ]]>     Last night my webhosting provider moved services from one data center to another during a scheduled downtime. All went well until a DOS attack that took out the connections in the new data center. 9 hours latter things came back up. Glad I wasn’t involved in the downtime! The entire incident reminds me of the time I was the crisis manager when the VAXes crashed and it took about 12 hours to get then back up.

    • ]]>     I’ve updated the log entries to the new format using movabletype. This should make it easier to keep things updated. After I finish with the gallery, I need to go back through and fix all the links to the pictures. Ugh.

    The photo gallery is taking a little more time than I first thought, mainly because I decided to re-organize things. It should be fully populated tomorow afternoon.
