Weber Tuning

Spring has arrived and it was time to get the Elan out of mothballs. I wasn’t too happy with how the car was running in the fall so took some extra time to get the carbs tuned. After reseting the sync I tried to reset the idea mixture. No matter what I didn’t the mixture screws were screwed in almost all the way and it was still rich. I end up pulling the jets to see what was in there. I found all the major jets were richer than the Elan Factory jets. I have no notes or recollection on why those jets are in there. I order a complete set of the factory sizes and swapped them in. Lo and behold everything ran much better. It will be interesting to see how this changes as the weather warms
